what is gross?

The term “gross” refers to the total weight capacity that the trailer can handle, including the weight of the boat and anything else placed on the trailer. “Gross capacity” means the maximum weight the trailer can safely carry, so in this case, it can support up to 5,200 pounds in total (the weight of the boat and any additional load).
